3 Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures
3 Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

With the field of cosmetic dentistry in Toronto evolving over the past decade, more and more are opting for cosmetic procedures for instantaneous results and long-lasting effects. Whether it’s to feel more confident or just to reclaim your smile, there’s no doubt that the benefits of cosmetic dentistry are enough to change some people’s lives permanently.

Today, there are several cosmetic procedures patients can choose from – with each method offering its own benefits.

Our goal in this blog is to discuss what some of those commonly chosen procedures entail and their associated benefits.

Teeth Whitening

As its name suggests, teeth whitening is one of the easiest and most cost-effective methods for you to improve your smile. The duration of the procedure is roughly 90 minutes. A white bleaching gel is applied to the surface of your teeth, with noticeable effects almost immediately after.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are custom-made, thin shells used to cover the front surface of your teeth. Your initial trip to the dentist will involve the trimming of roughly half a millimeter of your teeth enamel as preparation for the installation of the veneers. It is also during this visit that an impression or mold of your teeth is taken to make the veneers. Once your veneers are ready, they are bonded to your teeth and effectively change the colour, shape, size and length of teeth.

Dental Bonding

The dental bonding procedure entails the application of a specific resin composite used to repair damaged or discoloured teeth. Dental bonding is achieved in a single visit to the dental office, and is one of the easies cosmetic dental procedures out there.
